Might be easier to talk in thread.
Have you tried connecting to a server you have access to (either local one or a hosted one?)
any server i try to join causes the same error
just single player
but if i try to join a server i get the error
i dont have a server setup of my own
Have you tried disabling firewall and/or VPN or anything?
(not usually something advisable but best to check everything)
OK
My next suggestion would probably be to spin up a local server and see if you can connect to that.
If you get the same error, then atleast you may have the server logs to indicate what the problem is
i dont have the files to do that
You can grab them from curseforge
that seems too complex for me to understand
Do you know how to extract a ZIP file?
peazip or winrar i use both
but still setting up the files is boggling to my crunchy brain
If you know how to extract a ZIP file, that's all you need.
well i have no idea how to use the files i extracted though
I'm not a dev or an official helper by the way, just another player like you, so it's up to you if you want me to try and help by the way. Just letting you know.
well if you could get it working for me remotely i would appreciate it
You are using the fabric version of Medieval MC?
So go here and get the 1.19.2 v10 server pack from the right hand side;
Once you've downloaded that, extract it wherever you want (into it's own folder).
Then right click "start.ps1" and choose Run with Powershell
i cant do anything with these files though when i click on the script it just opens in notepad
ah yes
ok but powershell just does nothing
it closes out
oh i pressed y instead of yes
oops
๐
ok now its spitting out a bunch of random jargon on my screen
Once the server has finished loading (might take a few minutes), you connect to it by running minecraft, select multiplayer, choose "direct connect" and put localhost (one word) into the ip/address box.
Yes ignore the jargon, you don't need to know what it means, it's just the server printing out what it's doing.
๐ฅ
OK you're in the game fine?
yes
So how are you connecting to the server(s) you're trying to connect to?
but if i want to join a server it still gives me the error
Tell me how you're connecting to a problematic server, what steps do you do to connect?
What is this list of "supported servers" you're talking about?
i looked on google serch for it
Well Mineraze is not the same as Medieval MC
like i said its a hub of multiple servers
it said it includes the server for it
on the short list
I have no clue how hub servers work, so I can't help there.
All I can say is you problably won't have any problems if you try and connect to a medieval MC server directly.
well do you have any suggestions for a working server ?
because i spent 6 hours bashing my only braincells left over this
There is a channel here for people to advertise theirs, I cant vouch for any of them as I play singleplayer
There ^
those are discord servers
Which host Medieval MC servers
So join one you like the look of, and they might give you access to their minecraft server
Or find one in that channel that straight up gives away their IP address;
Just note, there's no guarantee that any given server is on v10 of Medieval MC
So you'll need to find one that's running v10, or downgrade to whatever version the server you like the look of is running.
potato dinner
the server kicked me idk why
i guess they don't like me
i'll try another then
same thing. i keep getting kicked
You'd probably have to join their discord and ask them. Some might not like random people joining.
