It is highly unprofessional and also problematic to push full release versions every few hours just to fix minor things that were overlooked. It must be a nightmare for internal version control and is definitely a nightmare for us mod users. Please take more time between full releases to fix bugs and ensure the update you push actually works. At the very least mark unimportant/untested updates as beta.

When there is a bug I have to rollback and test 13 different versions and its such a headache
didnt you forget to specify something?
another discord moment 🥀
specify what
its just a general suggestion
im talking about every mod
your whole modding ecosystem it suffers from your version control
you said theres a bug and instead of reporting it all i hear is a general complaint. dont want to update frequently ? nobody is forcing you to
talk specifics. if theres an issue tell me what it is. yesterday ive updated a good place. last time i updated that? more than a year ago
supplementaries for example has like 5 full release versions every month
just wait man
test your mods
make sure they work
5 isnt a lot
if theres a bug and i have a fix, theres 0 value in holding it there
people would come to me, complain that theres a bug and it would stay unfixed for months. would that be a better alternative? Ive had to deal with mods that have had blatant bugs with my stuff onn their end and didnt update them in months despite them being trivival. would that be a better "versioning control"?
like this is very backwards i hope you see
I mean I guess I should just stay on an old version
And never update
I run a server and version syncing for everyone causes problems
besides continuos delivery is what to stive for in software development. sure my testing could be better but i dont have time to test with all other mods other people have all the time and believe me the reason stuf fsometime also HAS to update often is because its all intertwined so thre isnt even other choices, look at every compat, every time a compat mod it adds stuff to moves an inch, EC likely has to update to accomodate
thats usually the case with software. stay on old stable or get the latest nightly build
Fair enough I mean you are doing this for free
And 1 person team
So it's a lot
Sorry for being annoying abt it
depends on what you want. if you constantly add new mods you want to use the latter. if not adding new mods and are stable just stay there until you encounter a bug that bothers you. thanks to continous delivery its almost guaranteed that its already fixed. you have no idea how many times by the time a bug was reported here a fix was already out. To think of that as a disservice to users is quite very backward imo
btw you didnt say which bug is there
im more interested in that . send latest.log
i know i have one with map atlases, will fix now
flower boxes dont work im on 1.21.1
i can place it down
double flowers
oh so there is no way to use 1 tall flowers in the flower box?
how about torchflower
should work i think
unless we forgot
no sorry
its pitcher plant the 2 block tall one
torch flower is 1 block tall
configs
ill add a chat message for this since this is third time its been asked. weirdly just recently . they have been like that for a year
ok ty
and i dont think this is backwards because usually you would have beta/alpha releases for users to test and you spend a lot of time working out all the bugs before you do a full release
just complicates things. if bugs arise i fix them immediately. sometimes screw ups happen but if i havent update in a while its likely stable. thats usually the metric
still confused about the flower box thing. was that the bug? i thought you were going to say it was a crash. rest assured that if flower box were indeed bugged them not crashing wouldnt classify for an instant update tbh. i thougth you were bothered by some misterious crash that happened in one of my recent update. now that i could understand
no i just thought it was a bug
but a real crash im having is with the skillet from farmers delight
the skillet and the cooking pot both cause insta crashes when placed on the my nethers delight stove
send log. i only released a couple of updates for FD fabric, multuple people maintain it. definitely one of the least updated projects since its mostly just following the forge update schedules
issue from that mod
i know you dont make that mod just wanted to see if its possible to fix from your end
i dont think the dev of that mod has any way to contact them
maybe the crash but their logic wont work
but the issue is specfically with the farmers delight stuff
its an addon, it should follow the core mod, not the other way around
many things changed in recent fd update and some addons need to update as a result
not on github?
no discord?
