It would be cool to have an option to shift fall through rope. It could work the same way shift falling through scaffolding works.

well shifting lets one step on it carefully, preventing screen wobble already

ah, that's true. personally i think i'd prefer the ability to crouch fall and always force the screen wobble since that's a pretty cool feature and challenge, but i understand if you want to keep things the way they are.
