There's a way to level your farming which would work to maximise your CP via pest/pruning, although it is an active method and not a passive one.
This would be to set up your farms and plant a crop that doesn't grow well in the conditions (eg something like pepper with farms in the swamp south of Heidel). You then server hop using a sequence of servers that will trigger the crop timer sequentially. As soon as you see the message for your crops, switch server/prune and once you see the message again, switch to the next server until you complete the loop and go back to your first server. You'll obviously have to work out the server timing to get the order for your servers correct but you should be able to max out the number of prunes etc that you get per hr doing it.
I've not tried it using magical seeds however, so not sure which would be better.
EG: Bal5 -> Bal4 -> Bal6
Wait for server msg on Bal5, switch to Bal4 and tend to crop / wait for crop message, switch to Bal 6 / tend to crops / wait for message, switch to Bal5 / tend to crops / wait for message and repeat cycle.
