Best 'caster' class to start with for both PvE/PvP early/mid/late

I'm trying to make my mind up if it's worth starting on BDO so late. I heard that the game is in a kinda good state right now, so I figured i'd might wonna give it a go.

If i'm to pick a good caster class that gonna do great in both PvE(grinding and other activites) and PvP which one should I pick?
I can see that both Awakening Sorc, Witch and Nova are being put in S-tier - Is this correct as for now?

Also in general any tips for starting out is most welcome!

And now to the class selection details. What kind of caster are you looking for? Because from the classes you listed only Witch is stereotypical caster. Awa Sorc is melee dodging everything class and Awa Nova is a in your face tactical nuke.
Awa Nova is over all one of the best classes in the game at all areas of the game. Awa Sorc excels at endgame only pretty much and Witch is quite like Sorc in that regard. Can't really say much about Sorc or Witch PvP though.

Yep. She is the best one over all. Awa Nova has pretty much every "tool" that is in BDO. I won't bother going into the details since its just bound to leave you to confused and I can't be bothered to go deep dive the class if you don't know if you even like the class enough to learn it properly. EDIT: Made so many typos...

Skill tree will be completely taken when you reach lvl62
There is no specific skill builds

But for crystals, addons and buffs.... that is when you reach lvl 61 and ready to invest silver in it. As new player you dont really need to focus on min-maxing yet.

I see.. So just play the game and it will put points into stuff itself?

Game will automatically uprank all skills for you up to lvl56
Only passives must be self placed

After 56 you will unlock succession and awakening where skills gets boosted or replaced

Mind training or?

Skills will uprank self
And skills to use, try to use combos instead of quick slots
