I play through steam and have tried to hide the alerts that flash near the top of the screen, but it doesn't seem to work. I had someone helping me to do it and after relogging, they were still there. I forgot to ask them if they play through Steam though. If anyone knows how to hide those permanently and could put step by step instructions, it will be much appreciated. Thank you all!
