Recieved the steam version for free a while ago but have many issues now that I'm trying it

So I got the Steam version of the game for free in the past, installed it just now, and I only get a Portuguese message saying "It can't reach the patch server" not even opening the launcher.

tried turning the blackdesertpatcher32.pae into an exe to enter the launcher, and sometimes it opens a launcher, but requires login information that I assume should be filled by default by the steam client no?

what can I do to solve this, back when I played on the redfox SA server the game was also a pain in the ass to work with, wish the game was easier to make work on install

Honestly not sure, received it years ago on steam, they were gifting it, but I recieved it on SA, and plan on playing on the SA server (and my location is in SA) so region lock is not it for sure

if I open it normally, it shows for a second the black spirit loading before the launcher, but the launcher won't show up.

checked the debug file on the folder and it says there's duplicate cookies and that generates an error, no idea how to solve that

found an updater log and it shows that it times out when trying to connect

it'd be weird if it were a region lock since I got it as part of an SA pack and I'm in SA

Can you please try to use a VPN to see if that helps. This is the NA/EU Discord so we may not be able to help you too much with SA issues even if the game is the same.

might just uninstall at this point then, can't afford having a vpn just to play this, that sucks

Ok, nvm once I used the vpn for the first launch, now it works without a vpn on the second launch

it seems that by default the steam version has a updater API request from the time PA didn't do south america, so you literally can't play if you haven't used a vpn even once, that's something for sure lol
