Returning player here, I have about 500 hours in the game but I ended up quitting two years ago because I just wanted to play pvp and the grind was too much for me. I have a job now, and was wondering how much irl money I would have to spend to hit decent pvp gear.

You can still buy costumes and sell them on the market, but the amount of silver you gain from doing this is really not worth. You can make the same amount of silver in an hour or 2 of playing the game.

You don't need to buy anything to be competitive.

There are capped node wars that don't require much gear, you can reach the caps quite easily.

There is also arena of solare, which is a ranked PVP arena with equalised gear. We are still waiting for the next season to start but this might also be in your interest
