Hi there , in this case there are a few things you can try.

  • Flush DNS and swap to Google DNS
  • Use a VPN (for example ProtonVPN as it’s free) to connect
  • restart PC and router
  • Delete your steam download cache
  • Repair game files in the launcher

If none of this works please send a ticket to official support.

__**How to Flush DNS**__

  1. From the Windows Start Menu, search for cmd (Press windows key, and type cmd).

  2. A result called Command Prompt (may be called differently in other languages) will show up.

  3. Right click on Command Prompt and click Run as Administrator.

  4. When asked whether to allow Command Prompt ot make changes to your computer, click Yes.

  5. In the console, type the following command: ipconfig /flushdns. If successful, you should see the following message.

  6. Use the command: ipconfig /release (This will disable your internet connection temporarily)

  7. Important: Use the following command to re-enable your internet: ipconfig /renew and let it fully complete.

  8. You may now close the command window, and attempt to connect to the game again.

__**How to Change DNS**__

The recommended DNS for BDO are the Google Public DNS, Cloudflare or Quad 9. To make sure you are using one of them, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your Control Panel / Settings by hitting windows key and typing Settings.

  2. Select Network and Internet go to Network & Sharing Center then Change Adapter Settings. See Image

  3. Select the connection for which you want to configure your DNS.
    Example:

- To change the settings for an Ethernet connection, right-click Local Area Connection > Properties

- To change the settings for a wireless connection, right-click Wireless Network Connection > Properties

  1. If asked for administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  2. Select the Networking tab. Under This connection uses the following items.
    Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) or Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and then click Properties.

  3. Click Advanced and select the DNS tab. If there are any DNS server IP addresses listed there, write them down for future reference, and remove them from this window

  4. Confirm

  5. Select Use the following DNS server addresses. If there are any IP addresses listed in the Preferred DNS server or Alternate DNS server, write them down for future reference

  6. Replace those addresses with the IP addresses of the Google DNS servers:

    - (Google Public) For IPv4: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
    - (Google Public) For IPv6: 2001:4860:4860::8888 and 2001:4860:4860::8844
    - (Quad 9) For IPv4: 9.9.9.9
    - (Cloudflare) For IPv4: 1.1.1.1 or 1.0.0.1
    - (Cloudflare) For IPv6: 2606:4700:4700::1111 or 2606:4700:4700::1001
  1. As a last step, restart the connection you selected in step 3

__**Repair Corrupt / Missing Files**__

Steam & Web: Sometimes files can become damaged, corrupted, or are missing. In this case, use the in-built function in the game's launcher to repair it. To do this simply:

  • Open the launcher & Log In
  • Click on Scan Files button in the bottom of the launcher.

Steam Only
Steam also has a method unique to steam known as 'Verify Integrity', which can be accessed by:

  • Opening your Steam library
  • Navigate to the Black Desert Online game
  • Right click on the game icon, and navigate to the Properties section
  • A new window will open, on the left click 'Local Files' and then click 'Verify Integrity of game files'
  • Steam will then check for corrupt or missing files (make take some time)
