Schools: NYU Tandon vs Cooper Union
Intended major: Mechanical Engineering/ Minor in Comp Sci
Similarities: Both in the city, great engineering schools, relatively low cost (for me and my scholarships)

Cooper Union
School 1 Pros:
Supposedly really great engineering school. Rivals the Ivy's and better than a handful of them in engineering.
They only do three things; Architecture, art, and engineering. So they are really good at engineering.
Small Classes: Not sure if this is a pro or con, but I know it means the education will be a lot more focused and tailored to me, and i can build great bonds.

School 1 Cons:
They only do three things; If I ever decide engineering is not for me anymore, I have no other options. I have to transfer out.
Small Classes: Again, not totally sure if good or bad.
Apparently REALLY hard.

NYU Tandon
School 2 Pros:
Great school, widely known. Everybody knows NYU.
Lots of money, funding, and opportunities and a great engineering program.
My dream school, and I have done engineering research programs.

School 2 Cons:
Size: A classroom of 500 is worse than a classroom of 5. Professors see you as one student of many rather than an individual.

Tiebreaking considerations:
Campus Life, Enjoyment at the school, which is the better program

Just to be sure, NYU is 8k and Cooper is 11k?

In that case, I'd vote Tandon for lower cost (that's not as significant since it's "only" 12k), more academic diversity and more options
