**UCSD:
Pros: **
In-state tuition (total cost 35k/year)
Top research institution
Possible 4+1 program to apply to
Highly ranked in engineering overall
Pharma hub
apartment style housing
Cons:
Low ranking for chemical engineering (48)
Not extremely interested in some of the professors research
UT Austin
Pros:

Highly ranked in chemical engineering (top 5)
Strong research, I find the professors projects more interesting
Higher grad salary
Tech hub, huge on the oil industry, rising in pharma
Cons:
cost (57k/year)
no 4+1 programs (low importance)
**UDelaware
Pros: **
Top 10
Strong research (its very easy to get into as of what I've heard from students)
Close to Philadelphia, baltimore, New York, and DC within a 2 hour drive (Great cities for ChemE)
College Town
No sales tax
Unique 4+1 programs (ChemE + biopharma sci, ChemE + CS, ChemE + particle Tech)
12:1 student:faculty ratio
Cons:
Cost (45k/ year with scholarships)
Low overall ranking

Some similarities are that the job prospects are good everywhere
Finances are something to consider but not a huge issue, especially if a school is significantly better

UCSD because of cost and bc of the opportunities you get being in a pharma hub

not really sacrificing that much
