Schools: Boston University & University of Rochester
Intended major: Computer Science
Note: I got into CGS (College of General Studies) for BU instead of CAS
Similarities: I really like that they are both in the Northeastern United States. These were my two top choices behind NYU (rip), so the fact that I even get to go to one of these already has me super happy (let alone being able to choose between them).
University of Rochester
Pros:
- I really like the campus of rochester, it's genuinely beautiful
- Not CGS, so I can focus more on CS
- Really good research program, might be better as I kinda want to go for grad school after undergrad
Cons:
- Rochester is kinda seperated from everything, and I really prefer super large cities like Boston.
- not as much FinAid as BU, but still affordable
Boston University
Pros:
- In Boston, which is amazing (for a ton of reasons).
- My cousin goes to MIT, so we could hang out again
- The CGS London Study abroad program looks genuinely amazing
- They gave me a crazy amount of aid, so I'd leave with practically no debt
Cons: - The Campus doesn't look as great as Rochester
- I won't be able to see this campus until im there (visiting UofR very soon)
- CGS. This is my main concern and reason why im torn between the two schools.
Note 2: If I got into CAS at BU, it would be a much easier choice for me, but with CGS I am getting the feeling that Rochester might be the better school in the long run. In the same time I am not sure (which is why I'm asking here), Thoughts?
