Intended major: business/econ (applied at all schools for neuroscience because I wasn't set on business yet)
Similarities: all are prestigious and have a good location near/in a big city
Costs: not a factor
USC
Pros:
- good weather
- closer to home (ca resident)
- trojan network
- strong school spirit
- study abroad first semester?
Cons: - spring admission (got off appeal)
- not admitted to marshall since i didn't apply for business
- surrounding area isn't safe
- admitted by major
Barnard
Pros:
- new york (always wanted to experience living on the east coast)
- ties w columbia
- resources in nyc
- more focused liberal arts education
- extended family nearby
- not admitted by major
Cons: - less major options available
- not particularly known for business
- funding issues
- not as well known
UChicago
Context: got guaranteed transfer for fall 2027 as long as I maintain above a 3.5 gpa, already asked whether usc spring admission would mess with their requirements for gpa (and if study abroad would work)
Pros:
- very very very good for business
- intellectual community
- higher prestige
- chicago
- majors/classes are really interesting
- campus is super pretty
- not admitted by major
Cons: - where the fun goes to die
- transferring will probably be challenging
- super cold
