academic interests / intended: creative writing (i love!), english, game design / compsci (BIG maybe), education, law, business (BIG maybe). definitely gonna pursue higher education
cost diff
emory: abt 80k
UF: oos tuition --> in state tuition after freshman yr (30k --> less than 10k)
oxford-emory pros
tiny campus, class size
recognizable name
all-around great academics, so better if i wanna pivot
great writing program
pre-law / business / med infrastructure is good
diversity (i am asian)
oxford where is your asian food...
o-e cons
would have to fly ;-;
transition into atlanta campus junior year, might be difficult (unsure)
i dont have a good idea as to how competitive / stressful it is
uf pros
big alumni network
also prestigious (t30?)
ppl seem chill
value
wider diversity of majors to explore
will be 2hr drive away
LOTS OF FOOD YUM
uf cons
big school, heard its hard to get personalized attention
diversity (large amt of floridians)
not sure if its name has as much weight as emory...?
why it's so hard for me to decide
for me it's abt whether or not the 50k diff in tuition is actually worth it
i've been told that emory will open a lot more doors for me / easier opportunity access, but on
the other hand it'll be a (somewhat manageable?) struggle for my family to afford.
i like both schools equally, but im afraid that if i go to emory, it'll be a waste of $$ because i tend to prioritize my sanity over the grind. on the other hand im afraid that if i go to UF and the difference in career placement, opportunities, resources, and brand is really that big, i'll regret it.
pls give me advice / insider information!!!!!!!! i'd really appreciate it
