Schools: drexel and GWU
Intended major: UX/UI (drexel) IxD (GWU) (basically the same field postgrad)
Similarities: both in major midatlantic cities, similar communities (at least within the art schools), R1, more experiential than academic from what ive heard, study abroad option, size
Costs: drexel is less

Drexel University

DU Pros:

  • location (ive lived here most of my life, all of my family is here and some of my friends are staying, also means i can get around easier)
  • built in internships
  • amazing job placement especially for ux
  • autism support
  • i can keep doing local volunteer work
  • i could get my own room without paying thousands extra
    DU Cons:
  • 5 years for a bs
  • didnt get into the honors college
  • kinda selfish but it doesnt have much prestige
  • club swim does cuts (sounds dumb but doing swim again is one of my goals)
  • quarters for my freshman year + rigor (harder to make time for hobbies/friends and get a 4.0)

George Washington University

GWU Pros:

  • graduating in 4 years
  • required minor
  • alumni benefits esp if i work/live in dc
  • club swim seems more welcoming
    GWU Cons:
  • expensive ahh dorms that ive heard arent that great from a current student
  • they invited turning point and rfk over bruh (im gay and autistic)
  • no dedicated autism support
  • i have 2 family members and 1 friend in the area but thats it

Tiebreaking considerations

  • im basically decided on drexel but want second opinions esp from people who dont know me personally
  • like is there anything that makes gwu that much better
  • i want to try and transfer to penn (ik i shouldnt think about that but if one school would give me a major leg up i will consider that)
  • im lowkey on the waitlist for a t25 so that may enter the conversation if i end up getting in

I think Drexel does sound better for you and I can't think of a reason why you should go to GWU instead
