Considering full pay for all 4 with no loans (comfortably able to afford), which would be the best option if the main goal is to maximize earning potential
I dont care about location or college experience really, right now I'm leaning CMU because of their robotics additional major which I'm interested in

Schools: GT, UIUC, Umich, CMU
Intended major: EE/ECE
Similarities: Very good Electrical Engineering programs
Costs: Full pay at all schools, but can comfortably afford it with no issues
Umich
Pros:

  • Traditiional college experience
  • Work hard, play hard school
  • alumni network
  • flexible academics
    Cons:
  • cold
  • lower average salary outcomes
  • large school = more competition for resources
    GT
    Pros:
  • Well rounded EE programs
  • Very strong industry connections
  • consistent outcomes
    GT Cons:
  • very defense oriented, different outcomes in atlanta than in northern areas
  • not dominant in any specific EE niche
    UIUC:
    Pros
  • good pipelines to apple, nvidia, etc
  • strong EE fundamentals
    Cons:
  • Rural location so less recruiters relatively speaking
  • large program so more competition for research/internships
    CMU:
    Pros
  • private so relatively less competition for resources & courses
  • funnels into high payirg roles well

CMU has the best career placements out of these but be aware of the grade deflation and it will be hard to stand out in a class filled with smart ppl. That being said the experience will be worth it for career placements and internship opportunities as CMU is often the same rank as MIT for tech careers. But if you want an overall college experience and you like sports, cultures etc UIUC and Umich might be better for the experience. Overall all options are amazing you’ll build a successful career whichever one you choose eventually
