I'm majoring in International Relations - Economics for Wellesley and Economics for Wesleyan University
Wesleyan Pros:
- full ride
- diversity
- coed
- bigger campus and student body size
- strong program for econ
Cons: - no cross-registration
- There’s nothing much around
- no city life around for fun
Wellesley Pros:
- strong networks/alumni
- 25mins to Boston
- many cross-registration esp w mit
- can do research at MIT
- 4+1 MIA at Geneva
- have the combined major I wanted
Cons: - might be lacking of funs because it has a small student body size
- doesn’t seem to be much diversity
- more expensive than Wesleyan
Deciding factors:
- The feeling at the colleges and where offers better post-grad opportunities. I’ll visit Wesleyan next month and hopefully see how it is, not sure if I can visit Wellesley beforehand or not. Also need more reviewing of the two schools and especially foods and outdoor activities and fun there.
My Preferences:
I want a place that can give me the best opportunities for grad, and my goal is to go to grad school or go straight to a PhD in Econ or International Relations. I like a quiet and calm vibe, where there’s a mix of alone time and fun around people.
