Location/Region: I’m from North Carolina! I wouldn’t like schools that are far away, specifically near the west coast. I would like to stay near the east coast. I would possibly consider schools in the midwest.
-
Major: accounting + neuroscience, bio, or genetics minor. (maybe econ major if they don’t offer accounting??? haven’t really thought about this route yet.)
-
GPA/Test Scores: 4.0uw + 4.49w, taking act soon.
-
Curriculum: flexibility of taking class across multiple disciplines disciplines, good business school. a bachelors + masters degree program is a plus! i hope that I can eventually become a cpa so a school that can help prepare me for that would be great. schools with labs or research facilities would also be good.
-
Size: more on the mid-big size, but open to different sizes.
-
Costs: i have no idea how much i can exactly afford yet, but i know I will be needing a significant amount of aid.

The best way to leverage that associates is likely to stay in state
love love love NCSU for accounting omg
- transfer a lot of your associates credits
- dedicated accounting program & direct application to the 1-year MAC (so you can get your CPA pretty easy)
- genetics minor here is also really lit
i think the only downside is that im not sure how easy it is to take non-major courses without declaring a second major, and that process can be a pain for double majors between colleges
yes yes! I’ve heard nothing but good things about state
i think UNC KF has a 1-year MAC program as well so another great choice, although im not sure about competitiveness
UNC doesn't have a dedicated accounting major either but im sure there are good major/minor combos for prep
also if you qualify for carolina covenant that could help significantly with costs
i think econ would be the closest
yeah that makes sense
I don’t qualify
it’s okay though
What have your act practice scores been about?
around 27 or 28
i only did one
or 26
andddd i haven’t been studying….i should probably start doing that 💔💔
alright! That's not bad for a first attempt. Ideally to be competitive for merit scholarships aim for 32+.
i think my act is in march
ok that's enough time to start studying. do you have a book of practice problems and review?
yes they’re all digital study material
And
When they gave me my score back it listed the areas i did kinda bad on
so I’ll use that too
i think I’m going to apply to all in state schools. unc system is pretty good
and for publics my credit will transfer directly over
26-28 practice ACT for UNC system is honestly a great spot to be in
i believe in you :)
Alabama is an oos public that would give good aid, especially if you get a 36
University of Washington
Doesn't give good aid
….what if i don’t get a 36
