#Very Last Minute College List Concern

Please help me decide whether I should apply to more schools below...

Location/Region: urban/suburbs

Major: Math/physics

GPA/Test Scores: 4.00/4.33, 34/35 ACT

Curriculum: I'd like to attend clubs; not a party school but also not too competitive; good engineering-math/quantum program

Size: small class?

Costs: attending cost within or around $50k-60k/yr if possible

Schools You're Looking At:

  • CSUs, UCs, Stanford, MIT, USC, Columbia, Cornell, Yale (applied/applying)

Schools I'm Considering:
- Rice, Brown, CMU, Duke, NYU, BC, BU

Additional details:

  • Bearable weather (not too hot/cold or humid/dry) -- snow is cool though

Info:

  • Asian permanent resident in CA
  • Income around $90k (2024); this year my dad retired so it would be a lot less than that

I would consider adding Georgia Tech and Purdue, Purdue especially if you maybe get selected for a merit scholarship. And then all the schools you mentioned are definitely good options for you. Idk about CMU in terms of the student environment/Pittsburgh location or BC in terms of their engineering/quant stuff though.

CWRU is also easy to apply to because there are no supplemental essays and they meet full demonstrated need.

Bass connections to grams, FLUNCH, the SAGE program. Math + research

the medical robotics program

But what I will say is a lot of people mention those things, especially puppy kindergarten, bass and flunch. So it's honestly best to primarily mention program offerings that show a good fit

I liked it a lot!! I think the community is really nice and collaborative. I think the Math dept is super good too
