us applicant from alabama, i think i have my bases mostly covered but would like other opinions

  • Location/Region: anything but rural

  • Major: electrical engineering

  • GPA/Test Scores: 4.0 UW, 4.5 W
    35 ACT Superscore
    5 AP Precalc
    5 AP Chem
    4 AP Phyiscs C Mech

  • Curriculum: mainly looking to join engineering design teams and concert/marching band

  • Size: idc

  • Costs: i don't think i can go to a school with a tuition higher than 40k
    my parents are refusing to fill out the fafsa so aid is not an option

  • Schools You're Currently Looking At:
    accepted to: alabama, auburn, ms state, tamu
    awaiting decisions: ga tech, purdue
    still need to apply to uiuc

Additional Information: im a national merit semifinalist if that matters

no worries! i was just curious. i think it would make sense for you to apply to schools that still have merit scholarships open.

are there any specific schools you were thinking of? i’ve been offered good merit scholarships at alabama, auburn, ms state, and tamu. don’t think i’ll be getting the merit scholarships at purdue or ga tech (assuming i even get in) because of how cutthroat the competition is
