because I also think there are three main types of LACs

1. the east-coast, rural, small liberal arts colleges that are usually languages + literature-focused (bard, connecticut college, colby, etc.)
2. the west-coast, suburban, generally pretty diverse liberal arts colleges (oxy, pomona, colorado, gonzaga, etc.)
3. the ivy plus, broadly academic focused LACs that are basically just smaller T20s (amherst, bowdoin, swarthmore, etc.)

and i think within each of these, each school is unique and has its own personality, etc.

oh and i also forgot the 4th category: the midwest, white, ohioan LACs

i think it depends LOL but for me it’s super chill. for frosh quad the buildings are suite style so the bathrooms are definitely more private because you’re sharing with less people, i share with like 3 other people and i rarely if ever run into them. if you’re concerned about being in the bathroom with other people, at least for the first years most bathrooms have “open/closed” bathroom signs so if you flip the sign to closed 99% of the time people won’t go in there so you have the bathroom for yourself. for berkshire quad the buildings are the more typical hallway style you think about for dorms so you’re sharing with a ton of people and having the bathroom to yourself doesn’t really work out because it’s like 2 bathrooms for 25 people

also frosh quad bathrooms tend to be smaller for more of a single use style while berkshire quad bathrooms are bigger and definitely meant for more communal use

it depends largely on the building but for freshman dorms, frosh quad has some semi private bathrooms which are lockable and give u the option to be in the bathroom alone. berkshire/currier quad has a larger people to bathroom ratio and some of them have 2 showers per bathroom but its still chill.

your freshman dorm placement is partly based on a quiz you fill out in the beginning of the year, and i think my answers gave me rly nice hallmates who kept everything clean. i know some ppl who chose the "worse" options personality wise to guarantee a single and they got dirtier hallmates. so tbh take some time filling that quiz out

and then once youre an upperclassman we have a really really nice hotel that was converted to a dorm and those rooms have their own bathrooms

I got like an 80% on the Final Presentation because apparently I could’ve talked abt freedom and virtue more (smh like WHATEVER everyone said my grade was completely unjustified as well)
