there has been a statistic floating around that 91% of all yale admits from the class of 2028 had an interview and people have been extrapolating that to say if you don’t get an interview you’re ruined
despite the website saying otherwise
but the survey was sent to all members of the class of 2028 (2000+ students) and only 541 responded
for the specific interview question, there were 537 responses, 91% of those being affirmative
but can we really conclude that an interview is 100% necessary if that statistic isnt truly representative of the entire class?? isn’t there a non response bias that comes into play here?
