UMD
Pros:

  • DC metro area
  • closest to home
  • full merit aid
    Cons:
  • close to home... (family)
  • not super hard coursework

UIUC
Pros:

  • good CS program
  • even though it's far i have a few friends there
    Cons:
  • literally in the cornfields
  • no aid (will cost $60k)
  • very far (plane ride)

GaTech
Pros:

  • good CS program
  • good engineering stuff as well
  • Atlanta internships
    Cons:
  • no aid (will cost $60k)
  • i don't really know much about the school

I honestly really want a rigorous program which is why I initially wanted CMU (take me off the waitlist please) and now lean towards UIUC or GaTech, but the merit aid is very persuasive. I'd like to know peoples' experiences at these schools to help tiebreak but I really don't know what to do with 3 days left.

Save your cash and go umd lol. The others aren't going to pay off the extra expense

gatech/UIUC are marginally better than UMD. imo, not worth $240k more, tho.
