They rereview every single application of every single waitlisted student along with new materials and last cycle they released all decisions at once however they change that every cycle based on the admissions commitees needs so they may not do that this cycle theyre not sure

Well from the perspective of someone who has that mindset, its not a set in stone plan to transfer before even going there. Its moreso holding yourself to the standard you would be if you were planning to transfer so that you can if you decide you want to

There’s not really a different standard? You should be aiming for good grades and participating on campus regardless of your intent to transfer or not

The issue is going in with that mindset makes it so you start doing things a lot more for numbers than connections or experience

im very happy where I ended up. I am also very not aware of what I want to do in life or what I enjoy. Yes, I might be very happy, but I also might not. I may feel isolated. I may decide to go into a field that has more chances elsewhere. I may end up disagreeing with rural life. Those chances are worth planning for and that includes research and effort the same way it did the first time i applied. If i dont end up deciding to, then thats okay, because all of that stuff would have still been worth it in its own right, so i dont see it as a waste.

I feel as if that viewpoint incorrectly came across as prestige chasey or unhappiness, which is why I said i didnt think you particularly understood how I felt.

Its not school regret so much as the fact that id have regretted any school I went to. Different schools have a lot of different appeals and I want to experience too many of them to be content anywhere I end up

I love learning but I also love experiencing new things and new environments and transferring, among other things, is one of the best ways to do that
