Intended major: Undecided (Computer Science and Linguistics
Similarities: Both are in the University of Illinois System, and I'm in-state for them. The major that is offered is the same basic structure as well.
UIUC
School 1 Pros:
- More normal college experience
- Pretty campus
- Would meet more new people
- Very good CS program
- More prestigious, possibly better pay in the future
School 1 Cons:
- Far away from home
- Middle of nowhere (for me)
- Frats
- Less diverse
UIC
School 2 Pros:
- I'm already admitted
- Diverse
- Already been in contact with department head, has great communication
- Close to home
School 2 Cons:
- Abnormal college experience
- Smaller overall
- Would be less of a change from high school, and I want to grow.
Tiebreaking considerations:
- I haven't been accepted to UIUC yet but have been accepted to UIC. The decisions come out on February 28th, so I'll know then.
