Location: I’m from New Jersey, and don’t want anything in the south or southwest. It needs to have a campus that isn’t just part of a city. Ideally mild to cold climate. Snow, forests, and lakes are a big plus.

Size: preferably over 8,000 students, does lots of research
Costs: budget is flexible but preferably public or on the lower end of private schools. i doubt i qualify for any significant need based aid, and merit aid i havent looked into but my gpa hurts me a lot
Currently looking at: university of minnesota, university of wisconsin, penn state, pitt, umd, binghamton, and rutgers
Additional: Ideally nonreligious and supportive of trans people, with lgbt housing, and not in areas with anti-trans laws. jesuit universities are negotiable though. I absolutely love gothic architecture and historic campuses, with buildings that have been there for a long time. I’m not a sports fan at all but it isn’t a negative either. No interest in greek life at all
