International student from Eastern Europe Applying for Economics

IB student, predicted 776 at HL, 777 at SL, so calculates to 3.96/4.00 GPA (I don't know how accurate this is or if GPA is from predicted's or not) 6 in HL maths unfortunately so rules out UCL and LSE

Cost/Curriculum/Size unimportant, looking primarily at recognisability (prestige) of University

Applying UK+US:

Cambridge
Warwick
Durham
Edinburgh
KCL
St. Andrews?

UC Berkeley?
Columbia?
UChicago?

Good EC's, national level at sport international level debating + internships at nat academy of econ and good university.

Does anyone know how applications to US are with IB and what would be considered to be competitive for HYPSM?

Also looking for advice on which UK Unis to select with 6 HL Maths.
Cannot afford a university guidance counsellor, help greatly appreciated.

damn LSE would've been great if you can raise your 6 to a 7 for HL math

#

i def suggest berkely and uchi for econ

#

usc is also a great school

#

as for applications to US unis with IB, they'll take your grades from grades 9-11 and your predicteds for grade 12 im pretty sure

#

to be competitive for HYPSM, i'd say a score of 38-45 would be pretty competitive

#

but remember that US unis also place high importance on ECs, not just your grades

you might need a uk saftey, idk if you've submitted ucas yet. have you looked at slightly less competitive schools such as bristol or york?

#

it depends if you have a backup for the uk or not
