They aren’t auto to cockrell but being auto to the school means they can count you to the 75% of acceptance that are legally required to be auto. Meaning that if you are equally qualified as a non auto applicant it is easier to accept you because they have a limited pool of oos/in state non auto slots but have unlimited slots for top 6%
