absolutely not. I give either top or one off the top. I don't see it as my job/duty to gatekeep people. That's the AO's job. I put effort into my report, so I want them to read it and make up their own minds

We're supposed to be ambassadors for the school. At the end of the day if someone has multiple schools to choose from, their experience at the interview might nudge them in one way or another

Think there's a Princeton med/law/business school when there isn't or like... spend the entire time asking me about Princeton instead of telling me about themselves. But even in those cases, I won't have much to write in my report so I could put down that I'm enthusiastic, but the reality will be reflected in the report

basically, what I'm saying is that there's a lot of different aspects to what interviewers do, it's never as cut and dry as "do your best" or "say what you think the interviewer wants to hear"
