So SJSU has about 27k undergrad, UCSC 18k, 9k difference. SJSU is more of a commuter school, while UCSC a lot of people are on campus (we can offer housing to about half of the student body. There are a ton of clubs, which are a great way to make friends (just like anywhere tbh), and students I would say are outgoing if you talk to them, especially during the first couple months when everyone is making new friends (they still are right now). People here are a bit more colorful, we have that reputation of being accepting of all types of people after all. I can go more in depth if you have any further questions (I'm packing right now hence the short answer).
