I think one point people continuously decided to miss is that what she did was not bannable. The issue is she had a giant buildup of previous smaller infractions

Generally when that happens a smaller one will eventually lead to a ban

We had previously temp banned her

She knew she was on thin ice

I completely agree with this which is why I’d like a discussion space but from our precedent with trying to previously allow topics that resulted in poor discussions puts us in a place where I’d like to be able to view everything at once. I understand many people here are able to handle a respectful discussion around this topic and that it shouldn’t be political, but when I check the r/a2c reddit when they’re letting it go everywhere there are some vile comments

And ideally we’d be able to better track said vile comments and get rid of them

True, but from a moderation logistic standpoint the filters work a bit differently

Ik yall may not care but basically on Reddit you can sort of hold comments before they’re released to the public

On discord we can’t do that

It’s either deleted or sent immediately

So topics even disregarding this are generally riskier

Also on Reddit people tend to take longer to respond bc it’s not a live format so when shit goes down on discord we get screwed much faster

The issue is we get a lot of mods apps where it’s people who have sent genuinely 5-10 messages ever in the server

People ask for moderation but nobody wants to actually do it
