Like my AP calc grade was 85 mid year (T1) and now it’s 95 for T2

Not at all. For most, the ivies are ridiculously expensive and impossible to access. Its often in tech and quant roles that we see people from top publics AND ivies fulfilling the same roles because one’s school isn’t one’s “qualification”. The large class size of a top publics allows you to be exposed to the vast majority of people you’ll meet in the world. This is indisputable. Yale’s class size limits this interpersonal access

This is a very privileged perspective. If we take Harvard as an example we should be able to acknowledge it’s loyalty to legacy admissions and its consequential upper class population. The alumni network isn’t access to all different types of people—it’s access to wealthy and influential people. That is not to say this is a bad thing, but it’s definitely not the same access to smart or dumb, Russian or German, immigrants or citizens, or the vast diaspora of people available to you at a public. The ivies have taken measures to address this, of course, but this concept still pervades every incoming class because it’s inherent to a smaller school population.

Also… as for financial aid: you’re coming from a polar position. These schools are not affordable to the middle class.
