  • Location/Region: i would prefer city or suburb, the state doesnt matter, im an international student from japan

  • Major: i want to major in chemistry! i want to do research sustainability related

  • GPA/Test Scores: 4.7/5 (school’s way of calculating), sat 1530 superscore

  • Curriculum: i think id like to have a core curriculum so im forced to explore subjects as much as possible (not necessary) & classes on sustainability or green chemistry

  • Size: small to medium, not too large. i would do best in smaller class sizes i think

  • Costs: i will definitely need aid. im going to apply to scholarships that hopefully i pass but if i dont then im gonna need aid from schools so here i am.. gives financial aid to international students πŸ™

  • Schools You're Currently Looking At: dream schools are mit and princeton, my list is currently full of reaches due to the scholarship im applying to having a list of unis that theyll pay for

  • Additional: able to do undergraduate research..?

i feel like this kind of school doesnt even exist but 😭

You can look at this list I made - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18eP3jlf1ktnv6vjfWT6-8UXR8hxgNV3TIcrkpJ5vH80/edit

There arent really good safety places for students requesting international aid because not many schools have all the money they can throw at you like the big fancy selectives ones that are already on your list.

Those are pretty solid options. If you're applying to schools in your home country and you're emotionally okay with attending school there, that's okay too. Although I would definitely probably check out European schools because they are also great with more affordable tuition.

thank you! i like the kind of educational freedom i get with american schools like the liberal arts aspect they have. do you know if european schools offer something similar?

from my knowledge they seem to focus on their major a lot
