A lot of students choose the free undergrad route to save for paying for medical school. I would see how many premed resources are available at Saginaw Valley State (idk much about it). But also, premed admissions are predominantly in-state based, so you might not need the name brand of U of M to go to your in-state medical school. Is there a medical campus near Saginaw Valley State? Are there research opportunities if you wanted to get them? If so, then I think having the full tuitions, honors college accolades and getting the study abroad experience already on your premed resume might help instead of paying from U of M to fight for those opportunities once you get there.
