#suggest for intl who wants to do civil engineering

seems like the schools you are considering are mainly west coast and midwest, is that a preference or a coincidence
I can suggest a lot of city schools in the US because when I was applying my criteria were similar, but idk much about their policies for intl students
idk if nyc is much busier than other east coast cities, the thing ab living in a major city is that it is what you make of it
if this is a concern for you then berkeley might not be the place for you, it’s also not directly in a major city and is kind of far from the action
I can give you a rundown of places I considered as an engineering applicant concerned with diversity, might not meet all of you criteria but
NYU
George Washington University
University of Pittsburgh
Drexel University
University of Pennsylvania
Georgia Tech
UCLA
UCSD
CUNY schools
Rice
Tulane
Northeastern
Boston University
WashU
University College London
University College Dublin
Trinity College Dublin
University of Glasgow
Brunel University London
UNC might be getting an environmental engineering major in the fall, but we have amazing hums (art, lit, history, art history) and a great urban planning masters program
I know NCSU has amazing civil engineering & architecture stuff as well - lots of PLAN students here do interinstitutional enrollment with them for arch/civE :)
We (UNC) have a lot of good pre-planning/civE majors imo (geography, enviro studies w PLAN minor, art history, pub policy are a few I've seen go into the grad plan program)
I think the “classical college experience” is overrated. You can have that, or you can have a “nonclassical college experience.” You can’t have both unless you go to one type and transfer to the other. For me I’d prefer nonclassical as long as it’s good, because I don’t want to be “just another number” when I graduate.
