im from duke, "Greek Life is very prevalent" doesn't affect me as a person who don't do party or greek life, so not sure if u shud bother baout the cons

I think that Duke is a stronger CS school compares to Rice, but obviously it depends on what metrics you are using.

If you tell me more about what is your main consideration when it comes to dorming, I can share you more info about "Quality of Residential Life at Duke"

As for overall vibe, I dont feel any toxicity/depressing so far during my time here, most students are very "outgoing", if you try to make friends in class Im sure they will be supportive during your study
