sounds like you like stanford more, that would be my vote as well...when I toured I thought the food was good, and I think it's not as far away from bay area as you might believe. plus, according to my family members who have gone to various colleges, entering college you think you'll spend a lot more time off campus than you actually will, because there will be so much interesting stuff happening on campus that you won't want to miss
#stanford vs yale for cs

have u ever watched gilmore girls
picking between yale and stanford is like picking between a bugatti and a mclaren or something idk cars
it's not gonna matter
yea i think the mc joins a secret society
ten years after college, even one year after college, you're not gonna be like "wow, my prospects suck in comparison to the other school!"
i would pick stanford for cs bcuz of the start up culture fs
and stanford is stanford
comes down to architecture and food vs. culture and weather
I think the latter would be far more important for me
(but I like stanford architecture and food. still wish I got in REA ha)
I bet the first week you will be really happy with your decision regardless of what it is
can u give me ur yale acceptance if u go to stanford π
I concur with choosing stanford, but you're not going wrong either way
I would go Stanford for its proximity and connections with silicon valley and tech/vc/startups
wait lowk could anyone go to my post and give some advice π thank you so much π» (it's the rice/duke one posted 3 hours ago)
also go to stanford! i have someone ik in sym sys and it's amazing
stanford bc the sym sys major is great
@velvet heath i think some people mentioned online that yale cs classes are super weak
weaker than some state school cs programs
yale
sym sys is a huge W for stanford i cant lie
and the bay isn't that far away
for quant your math skills are gonna be more important. i go to yale, and people do go into quant here, probably at a similar-ish rate to stanford once you adjust for the smaller STEM majors.
i think the colleges have quite different vibes β stanford is so CS-heavy, and seems a little weirder socially than yale, and that would probably be a big factor for me
