major: chemical engineering but will change to bioengineering if i go to ucr or if i go to ucsd will prob change to computer science w/ bioinformatics or biotech concentration or something like that
i kind of wanna be a dermatologist but im not too sure bruh med school acceptance rate is like 3-5% i cant be jobless
UCR pros:
- 5000 dollar yearly scholarship + priority registration
- haider early assurance program
- less competitive? is it easier to get a high gpa in UCR vs UCSD or nah
- nearby clinics=good for volunteering and stuff
- food is decent
- potential BS + MS program? if I end up not going to med school
- pretty good pre med advisors
UCR cons - bad location (very hot and not a lot to do around there)
- unsafe
- people prob go home on the weekends/commuter school
- not a lot of hospitals i think
- might be hard to make friends
- architecture/dorms are a bit crusty
- prestige??? mb harder to get connections?? idk
- less funding compared to UCSD
- close to home
UCSD pros:
- close to a bunch of hospitals/world renowned research
- good premed program
- new campus (eight college just built)
- ppl are relatively more acedemically focused; might motivate me more?
- good location/more to do than ucr (downtown san diego?)
- good reputation
UCSD cons: - mightt be harder to get a good gpa cuz its more competitive
- socially dead? more effort to make friends
- no scholarship + 2000 dollars more expensive than other ucs for whatever reason
- big campus=a lot of walking
UCSB pros
- nice little college town
- work hard play hard culture
- better parties/social life than ucsd and ucr
- farther away from home
UCSB cons - hard to get clinical experience because theres not a lot of hospitals
- housing crisis (but thats prob at every uc)
- might be difficult to get internships after college
this is just stuff i learned online but i havent personally visted these schools so yeah pls help me decide
