Tufts
Why
Vandys probably the best but idk if u can get in. Tufts is still pretty good, great location for CS since it’s near Boston. And ur chances of getting in are much better.
Whatever u decide make sure you are 100% alright with going to one of these schools I think ED2 gets people who are scared after ED defers/rejects
also vanderbilt CS kinda mid
school itself is good tho
I'll go with Emory then
CS at Tufts is kinda broad --> won't really make me a master at anything
Thanks guys
I'd argue this of emory as well
there course selection isn't incredible for CS and it doesn't seem to go that in depth
yea emory has like 5 cs electives to choose from: https://computerscience.emory.edu/undergraduate/degrees-and-requirements/cs-major-bs.html
vandy definitley has the most established cs program of these, but again, its the most selective
would also look into washu and nyu if ur looking for an ed2. not as good as vandy but prob better than emory for cs.
yeah ima be honest these three are not the best selections for ed2 cs
@round walrus
any other options
I wouldn't base your decision around faang placement as you have no idea what you will be doing in 4 years and chances are your chances at FAANG placement are just as good at your state school as a top private (maybe I'm wrong because my state schools is NCSU which is a huge tech feeder)
Look instead for schools that are genuinely a good fit for you
How about their courses from here?
I also thought maybe Emory has a friendly relationship with GaTech, maybe I could do my masters there
Hey I still have sometime
Tufts vs Emory CS plz
which is superior to the other
That program has a very low sucess rate from what I have seen on reddit
and is more of a 3 and 3 program than a 4 and 1 program
This is what we were talking about, that isn't a very diverse course selection
I just dont think these are the right schools for ed CS
minimal differences u could go with either
but these are not the move for FAANGS
if u like them tho just go with whichever u like more
what about computer engineering, I am having the same situations with same schools deciding the computer eng. What do you suggest me?
As far as I am aware emory doesn't have an engineering department
Georgia tech dual degree program exist
In reality almost nobody does it and it can take 6+ years
I looked into it quite a bit
then what do you suggest ı also think about Upen and cornell
should ı do ed2 to or just regular all of them
Emory tufts cornell vanderbilt Upenn
Cornell is definitely the strongest for engineering of the schools you listed, but it is a very weird selection. What exactly are your goals?
improving myself in the field, getting experience and trying to set up my tech company
So why would you be looking at schools that aren't known for these things?
with the exception of cornell
somehow ı believe my luck about admission, ı mean ı do not have the best sat score or any ap. But my extracurriculars and essays are strong. Even the perfect ones are not able to get in why wouldn't I try my chance
Also CompE is not the most applicable to starting a tech company
my goals can vary according the situation, but also do you know that kind of schools.
Are you international?
yes
Do you need aid?
yes at least half tuition
I don't know much about that, but I would avoid schools that are primarily known for premed/prelaw like emory and tufts lol
ı just learned that from you
top privates will give the most international aid
any suggestion, you seem like know a lot
maybe that increase my chance is it possible
it will a little, but it doesn't really matter if they don't even have your intended major (CompE)
if you want to start a tech company then look for schools that offer your intended major in tech hubs and offer good international aid your list should mostly write itself
how do ı find them
by looking the website of each school ?
Search for a list of schools that offer international aid
Search for a list of schools in each of the tech hubs, atlanta, boston, austin, chicago, los angeles, san francisco, seattle, etc
filter by major
and cross check those two lists
