intl, applied ea to penn state and got in. considering if i should still apply to virginia tech in rd or not.
both are my safeties, but im preparing for the worst. cost is not an issue. prefer a school which is social but not dominated by excessive greek life. also, would like a school which is collaborative and not cutthroat/competitive.
Schools: Penn State vs Virginia Tech
Intended major: applying as Electrical Engineering (might switch to some other engineering there)
Similarities: both are big state schools with cold weather and are not very diverse
Penn State
Pros:
- i've heard it has big career fairs so finding internships/jobs is a relatively easy process
- These can be things like weather, location, school atmosphere, curriculum, cost of attendance
- Really anything that’s important to you can be included here
Cons:
- PWI, not diverse but larger intl population than vt
- party school, excessive greek life
Virginia Tech
Pros:
- better dining lol
- not as much of a party school as psu
- job fairs are good here too but ive heard its good mainly for local va area
Cons:
- PWI, not diverse but larger asian population than psu
- i've heard greek life is imp in social scene but im not sure
