Schools: Emory Vs. Tufts
Intended major: Political Science and Economics (possibly Business)
Similarities:
I have legacy at both schools, parent legacy at Emory grad school and sibling legacy at Tufts undergrad. I am an asian international applicant. The cost of these two schools is not a huge factor in consideration.
Emory Pros:
- BBA program at Goizueta Business program allows me to study polisci and econ for the first few years and transfer into the business school in the third year
- The buildings seem to be nicer and newer
- Parent legacy
- I have friends who are going there right now
School 1 Cons:
- Atlanta is incomparable to Boston
- I'm not too sure about the city and campus life, I feel like the social scene is mediocre
Tufts
School 2 Pros:
- Location: I like boston a lot more, I was born there but never had the chance to live there
- Much more chances for meeting new people. There are so many schools in close proximity to Tufts, i get to meet so many people from different schools.
- My brother lives there so i'll have family there
- I have brother legacy
- Better social scene
School 2 Cons:
- After watching some youtube videos by tufts students, i never really got super attracted to the vibe (maybe that was just a bad video)
Tiebreaking considerations:
- I really enjoy engaging in political and social conversations. Diversity in opinions and freedom/comfortability to express opinions is really important to me.
- social scene: I really want to enjoy my time at college and studying is not everything to me. I want a good balance between work and life
- alumni network and graduation/job opportunities: i want to go into consulting after college, im wondering which school will give me better opportunities.
