what the title says. i have a pretty solid list for everything else already, but i just want some more options of schools to research and possibly add to my list as safeties.

location/region: city or suburbs, preferably. i live in the bay area.

major: computer engineering (cse)

gpa: 3.9 unweighted, 4.3 weighted. both will go higher when i send in transcripts from outside institutions (i've taken several ap courses and community college courses outside of school). sat 1590, act 35.

curriculum: i would love schools with good undergraduate research programs, but no other specific requirements in mind as of now

size: large, 10k+. if they're not that big, list them anyway, i just want to hear about schools that i can do research on.

costs: not a major concern rn, i'll look into the prices once i'm definitely considering applying to them

currently looking at: the schools i had listed as safeties in my list originally were rit, suny buffalo, and asu. but rit and suny buffalo really aren't completely safeties (~70% acceptance). i'm looking for options that are more closer to a guaranteed admission that i'd actually love to go to.

thanks so much!!

Kettering University is a tad small, but I can attest to the quality of the computer engineering program

#

recently graduated from there with a Computer Engineering degree and currently work as an embedded software engineer

#

One of the graduation requirements is having to defend a research thesis your senior year

#

And another is doing at least 5 co-ops (8 are baked into the 4 year plan of study)

ooh this is definitely a good option, i’ll keep it in mind thank you

#

my size requirement isn’t rigid, i just have a really large high school so i wanted a large college class so it felt like a bigger environment yk

the merit and need based aid is also fairly decent

#

and they dont count your co-op income when calculating aid

but everything else looks great with kettering so i’ll keep it in mind

I know plenty of folks who graduated debt free by working mad overtime during co-op terms

#

like one of my MechE buddies who worked 50-60 hours a week during work terms

#

but yeah, if you have any Kettering or general CompE questions, feel free to reach out!

cu boulder, i guarantee you'll get in but maybe not directly into school of engineering but youll have a really good shot at that as well
