Hi guys! I'm an International student from India looking to build a good college list for schools in USA!

  • Location/Region: Any place is fine.

  • Major: Data Science/Mathematical and computational science

  • GPA/Test Scores: All A*s in IGCSE(10th grade), all A's in AS level(11th grade) and predicted A stars for A level (12th grade).

  • Curriculum: The classes should be more practical rather than just theory. Also it would be nice to have an interdisciplinary curriculum where I can take classes from the arts stream as well.

  • Size: Any is okay.

  • Costs: I will be needing significant aid. EFC would be around $15k/year.

  • Schools You're Currently Looking At: Stanford, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, University of Chicago, Northwestern. So as you can see, I am in need of more target and safety schools.

  • Additional: Financial aid is a must. Along with that, the city/town should be affordable to live in.

  • Be Detailed! A sunny weather would be great. I'm not opposed to any kind of weather tbh but coming from India this one would be the most suited. Campus life should be enjoyable with parties and various events every now and then. And yeah that's about it lol.

I see but won't a state university not offer aid to int'l?

i mean this guy wants interdisciplinary classes so uchicago's core wd be good for that (albeit honestly other unis r also fine in this regard)

So I looked into ASU and it's alright, and yeah it's pretty cheap compared to most unis so I think I'll add it to my list, thanks!

UIUC doesn't offer need based financial aid to int'l students tho, and I don't think the scholarships are enough to cover the costs
