Location/Region: (Near NY area or surrounding states)

Major: CS

GPA/Test Scores: 3.7 UW 3.8W 1320 SAT (700M 620R)

Curriculum: Unsure

Size: Doesn't matter

Costs: I will be needing aid. I'd be willing on spending no more than 25-30k per year.

Schools You're Currently Looking At: NJIT, Rutgers, RIT

Additional: I'm going to apply EA. I also wanted to say that my sophomore year grades were horrendous. One of my closest friends died and it was so traumatic and I just had so much fear and PTSD from it to the point where my grades dropped from a 95 freshamn year to an 78 for sophmore year and I had to attend summer school. Some teachers understood what I went through and assisted me but others didn't help so much. In junior year however, I maintained a 97 average and I am proud of myself.

go njit instead of rutgers

#

rutgers is like 35k

#

njit gives full rides

#

if u can get a 1480-1500

#

thats my range and i got a full ride

#

do u care about t20s like purdue etc or no

#

do you think ill make it to njit ea with these stats?

#

also i didnt take the august sat but i have been working on math and ive been scoring a 770+ every time on my math practice tests (reading not so well)

#

i applied for october sat

#

so hopefully ill get it to at least a 1380 superscore by the time i apply

He meant 20k

#

I usually suggest the same ones, RIT, Drexel, wpi/rpi, (wpi is test blind though so do with that what you will)

#

Since new York there's Syracuse, suny Buffalo, and Stony Brook as well

i think njit is a target or a safety for him tho

#

he'd definitely get in

mortal vapor
#

Not necessarily?

mortal vapor
#

I think you're overestimating Stony brook

fringe arrow
#

yeah u needa do good

mortal vapor
#

For cs it's obviously a bit more selective but even their cs acceptance rate isn't absurd it's like 35%

#

They're not super prestigious for cs or anything

#

Worth trying at the least

#

he says hes scoring good on math

#

so i think if he does well i def think he has a shot

mortal vapor
#

Yea being around 70th percentile for math definitely is more favorable for cs

i live in nj so i guess i'll apply njit to see

#

i don't feel like applying because newark is not a very great place to live

I think there's also an NYIT

prisma glacier
#

nah

#

njit better imo

#

and if you get honors college thats great

mortal vapor
#

Probably but I imagine they're both atleast something to look into

Olin College of Engineering

Olin is good but also a heavy reach considering the stats
