OSU engineering as a whole is competitive, but they dont admit by major, but if you apply Mech, CSE, BME, or Aero, they admit you premajor and you have to get some gpa requirement or smthn i forget to get admitted to the true major

it is completely random. i had people who submitted their application before me hear in jan while i heard in dec. people in the same college hear in jan while i heard in dec. it was not alphabetical. people in different colleges heard at the same time as me. if you havent heard back yet, do not beat yourself up about it. it literally feels like luck of the draw, as much of college admissions truly is.

OSU admits a student to their College of Engineering, they are placed in the program they have chosen, assuming the school thought they fit and what-not. Depending on the major you chose, you are placed into the major program, or pre-major program. If you apply CSE, BME, MechE, or AeroE, you are placed into the program premajor, and you have to perform well your freshman year to get accpted into the major program. If you are a different engineering major, you are directly placed into the major program. OSU does NOT admit by major but by school.
