Thats not necessarily true about the scholarship. You can be admitted into your second choice major and be admitted EA. Scholarship notification comes later. As for the second half, you can switch majors after you’re admitted yes

Q: WHAT TIME WILL DECISIONS DROP?
A: Its on a rolling basis to make sure our servers don't crash. They will all be out by 5pm pst PLEASE DO NOT CHECK THE PORTAL UNTIL YOU RECEIVE YOUR EMAIL. IF YOU DO NOT WAIT, OUR SERVERS WILL CRASH AND EVERYONE WILL HAVE TO WAIT LONGER.

Q: How tf do you know all of this?
A: I work with the office of admission. I don't read apps, my bosses do. I host admissions info sessions, give tours, and help prospective students with the application process. All of this information is public info and can be fact checked.

Q: I GOT IN! What now?
A: If you are ready to commit, put down your deposit and submit your intent to enroll. This is due by May 1st (aka commitment day). After that, if you are interested in housing, start your housing application ASAP! Housing is based on a first come-first served basis.

Q: I was deferred admission. What now?
A: Don't give up! We still need to fill about 80% of our admitted class with RD decisions.

Q: Can I update my AO on new achievements/LOCI?
A: USC does not accept letters of continued interest or updates on applications. There are simply too many applicants to go through updates for everyone in a timely manner. Don't waste your time, they will not look.

Q: When are merit scholarships dropping?
A: You will receive an email on January 30th, so keep an eye out! You will either be considered for our Presidential and Trustee scholarship, receive our Dean's Scholarship (or other "smaller" scholarships), or notified that you are no longer in the running for a scholarship.

Q: I'm a National Merit Finalist, how do I get that scholarship?
A: You must select USC as your TOP choice school within NMSQT and commit! From there, the National Merit services will give us your information and you will automatically get a half-tuition scholarship.

PART 2

Q: Can I still get a merit scholarship if I was deferred EA and then accepted RD?
A: No, to be in the running for a merit scholarship you would have to be admitted EA and go though the scholarship interview process.

Q: When will I get my physical acceptance packet?
A: They will be mailed out soon!

Q: Is the "Spoiled Child" stereotype true?
A: I mean it just depends on what kind of crowd you associate yourself with. There are definitely people here that are full pay and wear designer everywhere they go and have more money on their wrist than some families make in a year, but there are also people who make less that 80k a year and are here on a full ride, FGLI students, etc. 2/3 of our student body is on some type of financial aid. so theres definitely a mix of everything

Q: Is USC safe?
A: I personally have never felt unsafe on or around campus. USC has MANY programs in place to ensure safety like requiring an ID if you want to come on campus past 9pm and a free Lyft service every night between the hours of 6pm-2am. DM me for more info on this if you like.

Q: Is USC better than UCLA?
A: duh At the end of the day, they're both great schools. Do your own research about your major, research opportunities, area/campus life, and cost of attendance. Make your own informed decision!

Q: What's the student culture like?
A: Definitely a work hard play hard environment, however there are MANY options for you if that isn't your scene.
