1. Dont stress if you dont get the classes you want during summer registration or whenever the first/second waves of registration are for freshies
2. Be patient, spots will open up for things you want, waitlist and coursicle are handy
3. Do good research into what classes are being offered for the semester and have a fuck ton of backups. If you think you have enough, find 3 more

Yalls first class registration period is a literal bloodbath but people add/drop for the first 2 weeks ish (not including add/drop during open reg and whatever)

cuz me being a high achieving student got rejected, but my friends (plural) who are slightly less achieving than me (not to belittle them) got accepted and they are US citizens or permanent residents. a lot of ppl said its possible cuz of my citizenship status that i got rejected cuz of the cap on immigrant acceptances

It's possible that they viewed your application with more scrutiny due to the fact they do legally have to cap OOS acceptances

But the odds they reject you simply for your citizenship status is slim to none considering holistic admissions, and that there are a lot of people of varying citizenship statuses here
