No clue, although these rankings seem to have thrown a lot of colleges all over the place, I remember northeastern being ranked 22nd, and NYU being much higher, along with BU and BC. US news had a bit of a fallout with some colleges so I wouldn’t really take their considerations, and their surveys don’t include the overall job placement salary and post graduate outcomes for said universities.

I know Umass did have a structural reshaping of the introductory cs classes in 2021, but their 2022 ranking on us news was like 29, it’s my first semester though, so I can’t really say much about the program yet

Yes you have to officially commit in order to pick up a double major, but once you are in you can just talk to your advisor and you’ll be set up

Probably UMass, the salary median is higher compared to Vtech, the issue is is that the cs program falls under Vtechs college of engineering, so the salary data can be skewed, UMass has their own cs department though, which probably makes it better for students. Plus the program is more competitive to get into at UMass. That doesn’t mean much though, and I really can’t say anything else because I can’t recall anyone I know being a student at vtech. If Vtech is more expensive than UMass, just go to UMass honestly.

Congrats on getting cs, and Yes, i think it is possible to do so, there are some specific requirements you will need to follow to get into the engineering major to do your double major. But I think you can make it. Although I wouldn’t wish anyone or my worst enemy to suffer through cs and bio engineering together.

Engineering has their own major declare process, but it’s not that hard to do so, so you should be fine doing a double major

It’s possible to minor in econ, although finance is not exactly an option. The iseneberg school of business offers a Business Minor, which makes you take various classes ranging from finance to operations management and so on. The issue is, unlike the econ minor, where you jsut have to do the required courses and you automatically can declare your minor and get it, the business minor requires an application because it’s “so full”. This application requires a short essay of why you want to do the business minor. The issue is though that the business minor application is picked in a lottery system, AKA it’s random. I applied for the bussiness minor this semester and got rejected. The only thing you need to do in this case if you wish to persue the business minor, is to just continue taking the required classes for the business minor and keep applying into the lottery system until you officially get picked to do the business minor, your chances of getting picked get higher as you get closer to graduation.

More than 70% of the people I know are non honors students who are in honors dorms, when the housing application comes out you literally just put down an honors college dorm such as “sycamore” “oak hall” etc etc as your number one housing option, and you will be in the housing.
