ok lemme clarify (also all of this is info i've gleaned from this server + past records)

for special programs like met, gmp, the hong kong dual bachelors thing, you get your decision for that today. you could get rejected from that but still admitted to the university as a whole. programs like these are v competitive like i think met only accepts 50 people a year so rejection from that does not mean rejected from berk.

apart from that, some people are shortlisted for the regent's and chancellors scholarships, and they get an email if they're shortlisted today. you could get shortlisted and still not get the scholarship, but if you get the scholarship email you are def admitted to berkeley. said scholarship email goes out to about 1000-1200 people, and considering they get 100k+ applicants a year, thats an ar of 1%. uc berkeley's overall ar is 11% so a large majority of people still get into the university in march. speculated time for this email release is 3:30 pm pst.

if you neither applied for a special program nor are shortlisted for scholarships, you'll get an email tomorrow saying this:

"Dear XXX,
We realize you've been anxiously awaiting your decision from UC Berkeley and want to let you know that your application is currently under review.

While you may have heard that a few applicants received notification of their decision, we are still reviewing the majority of freshman applications.

First-Year decisions will be released approximately late afternoon / early evening (Pacific time) on March 30, 2023, via the MAP@Berkeley portal"

tbh they don't really care about your senior year grades. they only ask for your senior year grades just to make sure u pass. i even know a couple people who got D's (as in non-passing grades) but they just told the uc that they will take a summer course to make up for it and voila they get in
