i asked prof at Tech a question like this, and told me that admissions don't really care much about what college you're applying to. The only major that's really "harder" to get into than the others is Computing/CS. he said, at the end of the day, you would've applied to whatever major you enjoy, and what your ECs and essays point towards. you only have to worry about what major you applied under if you tried to play the system and transfer into an Engineering/CS major. bc of that, GT have started to lock down popular majors like CS (got really difficult to switch into all of a sudden) and other engineering majors. that being said, math is a major with a moderate enrollment, so you really shouldn't be getting extra competition purely on the basis of major.

tl;dr if you truly want to major in math, you're good. it isn't any harder to get in for math than it is normally. source: gt prof
